Privacy policy

Bitbucket Buddy — browser extension
Last updated:

This policy describes how the extension handles information. The extension is designed to adjust the default merge commit message on Bitbucket pull request pages according to your preferences. It does not sell your data and does not use advertising or analytics SDKs.

Data we process

The extension may read page content that is already visible in your browser on supported Bitbucket URLs (for example, the merge dialog and its commit message field) so it can rewrite the message text locally. That processing happens on your device.

Data we store

The extension stores only your settings (such as which merge strategies are enabled and how commit messages should be formatted) using the browser’s local storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us or to third-party servers by the extension.

What we do not collect

Third parties

When you use Bitbucket, Atlassian’s own terms and privacy practices apply to that service. This policy covers only the extension.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when the extension changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision.

Contact

For questions about this policy or the extension, contact the repository maintainer (for example via the GitHub or Bitbucket project where you obtained the extension).
